Trip Introduction :

Mount Pumori 7161m is located inside the heart of Everest and Khumbu region of Nepal which stands just eight-kilometer west of Mt. Everest.  The word Pumori is assumed as a daughter mountain of Mt. Everest through the meaning of Pumori is “unmarried daughter” in Sherpa dialect. Comparatively, Mt. Pumori is the easiest mountain for an expedition in Nepal which was firstly ascended by German-Swiss expedition member – Gerhard Lenser in 1962.

Then, many expedition teams made their summit via its south face. The Mt. Pumori expedition is very suitable for those climbers who want to climb 7000m above the mountain in Nepal – & this might also be a great opportunity to gain experience for the preparation of other challenging mountains like Mt Annapurna Expedition, Mt. Everest Expedition, and Mt. Manaslu Expedition, etc. Pyramid-shaped Mt.

Pumori making skyline behind Kalapatthar can directly attract several adventure lovers every year. Pumori expedition is a great way to experience the world’s famous Everest Base Camp Trekking coupled with expedition adventure in Nepalese Himalayas comparatively less dangerous.

Pumori Expedition journey with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition starts from Kathmandu. Most of the trekking parts follow the very popular classic route of the Everest Base Camp trek until reach to base camp. A crucial viewpoint during Everest Base Camp – Kala Patthar 5545m is a great place to have an outstanding view of the world’s highest Mt. Everest, its daughter mountain Pumori, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, and many more peaks.

Generally, Pumori Expedition can be summit from its southeast ridge by making three high camps set up above Base Camp. We have to climb through glaciers and snow to reach Camp I from base camp. Then, climb face offers to ascend 40-60 degree slopes of snow walls until we reach camp II. Again, we ascend through ice walls and crevasses to reach Camp III and finally to Pumori peak summit.

After summit Pumori, back to Base Camp and then descend back to Lukla to fly back to Kathmandu.
