Short Tour Lhasa simply refers to exploring and experiencing the religious mystery and natural wonder. Lhasa is an amazing city situated with an elevation of 3600m. Lhasa, also known as the City of Gods contains a history of more than 1300 years. Sightseeing tour around the heart of Tibet – Lhasa offers to visit the heart of Tibet with the world’s renowned heritage sites, religious temples, and monasteries with exclusive architecture as well as the stunning scenery of mountain range. Tour is specially designed for travelers who have a limited time schedule and want to achieve a lifetime experience in the heart of Tibet. 

Tibet Tour with Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition mainly focuses on a sightseeing tour of Lhasa. In Lhasa, we will visit several sightseeing points including Potala Palace- a landmark of Tibet, Norbulingka places, Tibet Museum, Barkhor Bazaar, Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, and Jokhang Temple. From Lhasa, the journey leads to Gyantse with a scenic drive by crossing and exploring Yamdrok Tso Lake, Karo La Pass with a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. Our short tour to Tibet also ends at Lhasa.

  • Day 01: Arrive Lhasa Airport [3600m/11808ft] and Transfer to Hotel

    Our representative from Nepal Guide will greet you at Lhasa Gonggar Airport on your arrival schedule. You will then be transferred to the hotel in Lhasa where you will get additional information about the Short Tour to Lhasa. As you have reached over 3,500 meters above the sea level, it is best that you rest and stroll around the places in the evening for acclimatization. Spend the overnight at the hotel in Lhasa – the capital, heart and soul of Tibet.

  • Day 02: Sightseeing Tour at Lhasa [Potala Palace & Norbulingka Palace]
    After breakfast, we will visit the Potala Palace which is one of the most monumental of structures in Tibet. The massive palace was built around the 17th century. We will explore and reveal the enormity of Potala Palace which was designed to serve numerous diverse functions. It was the place where Dalai Lama and his large entourage resided and where all the ceremonies were held. All administrative and political decisions concerning the country were made from here. The sacred images, spectacular tombs of Dalai Lamas, large chapels, storage chambers, treasuries – all contribute to Potala’s extraordinary status.

    After lunch, we will visit Norbulingka Palace which was established by the Seventh Dalai Lama, Kelsang Gyatso around the 18th century. Since the middle of the 18th century, the palace has been the official summer residence of the Dalai Lama. The palace consists of more than 400 rooms and chapels. Besides, the ‘ Jewel Park ‘ or the garden of the palace is highly acknowledged for being the biggest man-made garden in the whole Tibet.

  • Day 03: Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse [3950m/12956ft] via Karo La Pass and Yamdrok Tso Lake [325km - 6 hrs Drive]

    Today we will take a drive from Lhasa to Gyantse, and drive passing through Lake Yamdruk Tso – one of the 3 largest sacred lakes in Tibet, Karo La Pass at 5,010 meters offering mesmerizing views of high mountains and valleys. Our drive goes through clean rivers, vast pasture grounds, herds of sheep and yaks as we approach Gyantse. At Gyantse, we will visit Khumbum Stupa, Phalkot Monastery and Gyantse Dzong (fortress) which is one of the best-preserved dzongs in Tibet.

  • Day 04: Back to Lhasa and Evening Sightseeing [ Barkhor Bazaar]

    After breakfast, we will drive back to Lhasa. We will stop at several places for exploring during our drive today. Once we reach Lhasa, we will take a walk around the busy market of Barkhor Bazaar. The open-air stalls, souvenir shops and crowds of pilgrims truly make this market the centre-point of Lhasa. You might find something interesting for your loved ones back home.

  • Day 05: International Departure as per fly schedule

    Today you will be transferred to Lhasa Gongar Airport as per your flight schedule.
