Dolpo Helicopter Tour is an excellent way to explore the magical and mystical land of Dolpo. We trek along the less beaten trails to Upper Dolpo also known as the “Great Himalayan Trail” and then experience the amazing helicopter flight from Shey Gompa – Upper Dolpo to Pokhara. The trek offers an incredible experience while walking through traditional villages that are inspired by the Bon-Po religion and Tibetan Buddhism.

Walking over the ancient trails we explore the isolated Himalayan region of Nepal. After an inspirational trek to Shey Gompa, we make our return journey with a scenic helicopter flight enjoying an eagle-eye view of the beautiful landscapes of Dolpo for a memorable experience.

Dolpo Helicopter Tour with Nepal Guide Treks starts at Kathmandu. After spending a full day sightseeing at Kathmandu we take a sweeping flight to Nepalgunj.

We start our trek from Jhupal following the ancient trail that passes through several traditional villages, beautiful valleys, and dense forests filled with pines, oaks, and rhododendron towards Phoksundo lake at Ringmo. The valley is popular with yak and sheepherders.

After spending a good day exploring around the serene cobalt blue – Phoksundo Lake and Ringmo village, our forward journey heads higher to Shey Gompa. It is worth spending a day at Shey. Shey is one of the most sacred valleys in Dolpo. The killing of any animal is prohibited in or around Shey Gompa. We will visit the remote village of Shey, Kagyupa gompa as well as the Heritage at Tsakang.
