Chulu East Peak (6584m) is one of the most beautiful peaks located in the whole Himalayas. This beautiful peak lies in the Annapurna Mountain Range. Chulu East Peak Climbing is also part of the Damodar Himal. This peak is graded as a less technical peak. If you are thinking of this mountaineering adventure, we recommend you have some mountaineering experience. The knowledge about the use of mountaineering gears and equipment such as crampons, harnesses, ice ax, tying knots, handling climbing ropes, etc. is a must for this adventure.

Chulu East Peak is a difficult climb because it involves glacier crossing and a steep ascent to the summit. Most of the climbing will involve roped walking to the summit. From the summit of Chulu East, the climbers will have dramatic views of Annapurna II, III, and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak, and Manaslu.

Situated in the most beautiful Manang valley, the trekking trail for climbing this snowy peak is a fascinating route that offers the most beautiful views of surrounding peaks, as well as the lush green forests of Nepal. We will trek through the arid but the gorgeous valley of Manang, which indeed looks like a piece of heaven on earth. The journey will be the perfect platform to enjoy the outlandish landscape of Manang and its unique settlement. Our guide will lead us through the green meadows and traditional settlements. The view of majestic green hills is unforgettable. The trekking along the way to Chulu peak is adventurous and easy, but the peak climbing is tougher. We have to make use of different equipment to climb the peak. We will spend plenty of time for adaptation and acclimatization to high altitudes.

Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition has been awarded as the best trekking company in the town and we have been organizing trekking and climbing expeditions for over two decades. We organize Chulu East Peak at 6,584m climbing with the best guides and porters in the country. The itinerary presented below is a tailored one and it is fully customizable.

Chulu East Peak Climbing Difficulty

Chulu East Peak Climbing trip is one of the most demanding and highly rated expeditions nevertheless it is difficult to match for its spectacular mountain scenery, trekking, and mountaineering challenges and the exposure it provides to the variety of ethnic Nepalese cultures.
Chulu East Peak climbing involves some technical difficulties especially related to crossing large glacier sections. You must be familiar with the use of crampons, ice axes, as well as previous experience with roped glacier crossing is essential. The trip includes the major obstacles commonly known as steep snow slopes, rocky trails, cold weather, and last but not the least; high altitude. Overall, Chulu East Peak climbing is the best and moderate climbing experience in Nepal. If you are in a very healthy state of mind and body, it qualifies for this peak climbing. If you prepare well beforehand, it will be an easy piece of cake for you otherwise it is a hard nut to crack

Chulu East Peak Climbing Season

Annapurna Region is obviously the best trekking destination in Nepal. Spring and autumn are undoubtedly the best time to visit Nepal. Autumn (September, October, and November) is the best time to travel to the Annapurna region. During this season, the landscapes appear vibrant and invigorated, with brilliantly clear skies that create picture-perfect views of the hills, rivers, and gorges. The daytime temperatures generally remain pleasantly warm, ranging between 12ᴼC-15ᴼC, but the nights can get chilly cold.
Spring (March, April, and May) is another peak Season. The winter snow begins to dissipate and the crystal clear skies create wonderful views of the green valleys and hills. The lower regions are covered in colorful rhododendron blossoms and the temperature starts getting warmer, which is perfect for trekking. As May approaches, the days become hotter, and the humidity causes a kind of haze to surround the peaks of hills that are visible from the lower regions.
Winter (December, January, and February) is extremely cold, and as the altitude rises, the temperatures sharply lower down. January and February are the coldest months. Though the days are chilly cold in winter, the night time temperature drops below the freezing point. The bright sunny days even in winters offer splendid views of the Himalayas.

Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness is the effect of oxygen deficiency in the blood and tissues at a high altitude. The negative health effect of high altitude is due to the rapid exposure to the low amount of oxygen at high elevation. The common symptoms of Altitude sickness include:

  • Headaches
  • Vomiting
  • Tiredness
  • Trouble Sleeping
  • Dizziness

Altitude Sickness generally referred to as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) occurs only above 2500m. The main reason for altitude sickness is rapid ascent and decreasing amount of oxygen at the high altitude. There are mainly three types of altitude sickness:

  • Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS)
  • High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE)
  • High Altitude Cerebral Edema.

Altitude Sickness can become a medical emergency if ignored. The best way to prevent altitude sickness is to travel to high altitudes slowly. It normally doesn’t take long for your body to adjust to a changed altitude. At the higher altitudes, the air pressure and oxygen level are comparatively lower. Our body takes time to adjust to such changes. We suggest you keep yourself hydrated, not smoke or drink the alcoholic substance, eat hygienic food, sleep low, take it easy, use Diamox tablets, etc. to prevent yourself from Altitude Sickness.
